Join BTO Youth on a bird walk along Flushing and Mylor Churchtown, guided by Youth Representatives Carla and Lucy.

Join BTO Youth Representatives Carla and Lucy for a bird walk along Flushing and Mylor Churchtown, located on the coast of Cornwall. This area provides an opportunity to spot birds around the headland and along the River Fal.

A short ferry ride is required from the meeting point in Falmouth.* Further information on the Flushing Ferry can be found on the Fal River Cornwall 2024 website. Please note that the ferry ride is scheduled and payments are covered by BTO and the Youth programme, to help remove the potential barrier of costs.

Toilets are located both at the meeting point and Mylor, and lunch can be purchased in Falmouth prior to the event - please note there are no public toilets at Flushing and limited eating places to purchase food. More details can be found here.

The walk is 4.1 miles in total and there are potential stiles located throughout, which may be challenging for wheelchair users - route and further details can be found here.

This event is run with the support of BTO and Flushing Ferry.

Please note that this event is free to attend and open to 14–25-year-olds. Participants under 18 will need to fill in a consent form with their parent(s)/carer(s) and send this to BTO before the event.

We understand that travel can sometimes be a barrier to access events. If this is a potential barrier for you, please email youth [at] bto.org and we will see what we can do to help.

*The map below indicates the meeting point ahead of the ferry ride to Flushing. The exact meeting point will be provided following registration.
